Yesterday, I had the joy of sharing about the power of community and relationships, drawing from Nehemiah 11. In this chapter, we meet the descendants of Perez, described as "men of valor" or "courage." These men exemplified courage and integrity, standing firm in their values/convictions even when it was challenging.
In the same way, as followers of Jesus, we're called to embody that courage and integrity in our own lives. Colossians 3:1-2 encourages us to keep our eyes on the eternal, heavenly mindset instead of a temporary, earthly mindset. This perspective helps us live boldly and confidently, because our identity is secure in Christ.
Jesus illustrates this way of living in the "Sermon on the Mount," where He challenges us to live by the ultimate standards of God's kingdom. With His Spirit dwelling in us, we are empowered to live as new creations, reflecting His love and truth in all we do. (Matthew 5-7)
1 Peter 2:9 beautifully reminds us that we're a chosen people, a royal priesthood, called to shine His light in the world. Let's entrust every aspect of our lives to Jesus, allowing Him to guide us in His ways.
Do you trust that God knows what's best for your life?
Let's walk in faith, courage, and integrity, just like the men of valor in Nehemiah.
