Prayer and Praise in Costa Rica

Praise and Prayer

Exciting times here! We've recently taken a couple weeks to meet with leaders and vision for the rest of the year. How necessary it is to step back for a moment to evaluate, reflect and gain clarity on how we mentor our students here! We ask for prayer for these specifics:

  • Development of our Life Skills mentoring workshops that would happen on Tuesday afternoons. We want to equip students not only in their faith but practically in their future

  • Seeking 2 additional male and female adult leaders to mentor on Monday nights for middle school

  • Horizon Church has opened a Christian Learning Center which has driven many families to participate in the church and youth group. Pray for healthy partnerships and collaboration.

  • Seeking 2 additional Spanish leaders to mentor our growing Spanish ministry on Thursdays for high school kids

  • God providing for our house building project. Juggling the building of the Mission House and raising funds for the 2nd phase(family house) has been quite difficult at times. Pray there are no more delays as we aim for a September move-in for the Phase 1 Mission House(pictured above).

Join us as we celebrate these things:

  • Darwin, one of our new leaders(on left in photo below), was able to lead his first teaching(charla in Spanish) this week. He's super enthusiastic about equipping teenagers to follow Jesus. Aaron(pictured on right) helped prepare him. Both Darwin and Aaron have been impactful in their influence to kids.

  • Baby Selah is almost 8 months old. She's healthy, crawling, making plenty of cute noises and sleeping much better than she did during the first few months of her life!

  • God is continuing to give us wisdom and guidance for what this new season will look like when we are more rooted in our first home. We have a renewed vision to invest in our neighborhood and local community in walking distance.

  • Alicia, Todd, and Selah have enjoyed some sweet time in the big city of San Jose finding necessary construction supplies and furniture. Everything is a long drive away but at least we can stop at our favorite coffee shops. :)

Thank you for all of your prayer and care - more info below!

How to Give and What Your Generosity Supports

Step 1: Click HERE for our Missionary Giving Page

Step 2: Choose to give either to our general fund by pressing "Donate" or directly to the Mission House Project(monthly, quarterly or one-time)

Step 3: Fill out the short form and your set!

The house building project fixes a major problem our family has faced.

We've lived in 7 different places in Jaco and God is providing a way for us to have our own home for ministry and family purposes.

The Mission House is staying on track to be move-in ready in September. The main purpose of this Mission House will be to host families, pastors, ministry leaders or anyone engaged in our ministry. People visit here for short and long term experiences for cultural engagement, personal development or restoration. It's going to be a blessing for thousands of people. We'll be living in this place until we complete our Family Home on the same property. The quicker we meet our total fundraising goal the quicker our Family Home will be complete. We've raised 55% percent of the total project.

This enables our ministry of mentoring young people and local leaders to be sustainable and effective long-term.
