Despacio

New Years Morning > New Years Eve

This is a shot from our morning walk as the sun rose quickly. I wasn't driving but this sign still spoke to me today. Despacio means to go slow. It's saying be attentive to the valuable life in front of you. Because if you continue to go fast, dire consequences could occur. You're bound to hurt yourself and others.

It's the new year and you've got all these ideas and ambitions and things you want to fix from last year and things you hope you can do better this year. The anxiety and pressure can come quickly. I know the feeling.

Most of my best and most productive days in 2023 usually started with a slow walk. Being up before anyone outside in God's creation enabled me to listen to God's voice when the chaos of the world wanted to distract, overwhelm or discourage me. A walk kept me focused and grounded. A walk kept me humble. A walk keep me dependent on the Lord and not my own power. Slowing down made me strong and think clearer.

You want to be more aligned with your goals and values?

You want to be more focused and grounded?

You want to accomplish more this year?

You want to stop giving into the chaos of the world?

You want to hear God?

Before anything.....Despacio.

“Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.
